MEET CREE

actress, model, vocalist, dancer, philanthropist

In the crowded world of entertainment Cree Davis stands out as a contemporary “triple threat.” She is a versatile actress, a talented singer and an agile dancer who has been sharpening her skills since she was a little girl growing up in Alabama.

Cree was born into a musically talented family. Her mother and father started their own R&B Soul band called “The Escapes.” At the age of five, Cree became the eager student of her mother, who owned and operated Psalmody School of Arts and Music, a performance arts school in Dothan, Alabama. Early in life Cree faced tragedy, forcing her mother to continue life as a single mother. The strength, tenacity and resilience that her mother displayed was a seed planted into the heart of young girl. Over the years that seed, coupled with a deeply rooted sense of positivity and optimism, has taken root and now forms the foundation of the performer who recently made her television mini-series debut in Jesse Collin’s and BET Network’s THE BOBBY BROWN STORY which premieres in September 2018.

THE BOBBY BROWN STORY

Airing on September 4, THE BOBBY BROWN STORY dove into the life story of legendary R&B singer Bobby Brown. Cree joined the cast to bring to life the rarely told story of the intense relationship between Brown and the iconic Janet Jackson.

Cree Davis, a gifted actress, took on the challenge of honestly portraying the intimate and intense relationship between Jackson and Brown. Unafraid of a dramatic challenge, Cree’s professional training allowed her to tap into a vulnerable side of her persona, stretching far beyond where she had taken her craft before.

As a singer songwriter, this talented Atlanta transplant was so inspired by the film, THE BOBBY BROWN STORY, that she crafted a response to Bobby Brown’s chart topping “Tenderoni.” Her song, “Only Girl,” is the female response to the song. Listen here.

Cree is committed to growing as an actress and performer. As an actress she trained with iconic acting coaches Susan Batson and son Carl Ford, whose techniques help actors like Nicole Kidman and Oprah Winfrey, find the connections between themselves and the characters they portray and Leah Daniels Butler, famed producer and casting agent whose credits include EMPIRE, The PAPERBOY and THE BUTLER. Cree completed international studies in Berlin Germany in the Berlinale Talents Program and is credited with film acquisitions at the Berlin European Film Market.

Cree co-starred in Fox’s TV Series SHOTS FIRED starring Sanaa Lathan and starred in THE SOCIETY and LIFE UNSCRIPTED. Her credits also include appearing on OWN network’s GREENLEAF.

As a national brand commercial model Cree has represented Publix, Regal Cinemas, Home Depot, Verizon, Comcast and others.

Giving back and encouraging others is key to who Cree Davis is. She has worked hard to better herself and knows first-hand, the power of having a dream. She dreamed of one day writing and recording her own songs-well she has; and she dreamed of acting on television and film-well she has; she dreamed of speaking to the world and encouraging those who need encouragement-well she has. She has provided motivation and inspiration to kids in prison, those impacted by crime including domestic violence – bringing hope into the darkness.
